This video, hosted by the founder and CEO of MidwayUSA Larry Potterfield, takes a look at one of the earliest double guns produced by the Remington Arms Company. The Whitmore model guns were produced in Ilion, New York from the early 1870's through the early 1880's. These guns are easily identified by the top lever which is raised to open the action, rather than pushed to the side like most top lever guns. These features and more are examined using a Whitmore Model 1878. This video also contains an explanation of the differences between twist and Damascus steel barrels.
